Langston Roach- A Business Titan
In 1985, Langston Roach, started Langston Roach Industries Limited (LRI) as a cottage business,
manufacturing cleaning and personal care products under the Lanher and Soft & Silky brands.
Under his stewardship Langston Roach Industries Limited has become the largest indigenous manufacturer of Household Cleaners and Personal Care Products in Trinidad and Tobago under brands such as Lanher, Smart Choice, Fire Bright, Soft & Silky and Nature’s Collection. The company currently exports its products to fourteen (14) countries throughout the Caribbean.
He attended the Queen’s Royal College from 1959 to 1965. Over the years, he continued his academic
pursuits and today holds an Executive master's in business administration, from UWI, Arthur Lok Jack Global School of Business. He has been honored for his contributions to the business and manufacturing sector and received an honorary Doctor of Science from The University of Trinidad & Tobago and was also inducted into the Trinidad and Tobago Chamber of Commerce’s Business Hall of Fame. He has also received the Supermarket Association of Trinidad and Tobago Elite Champion of Business Award. In 2023, he was the recipient of the Chaconia Medal (Gold) for his long and meritorious service to the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, in the sphere of business and community development; and also holds the 2023 Lifetime Achievement award 2023 from Trinidad and Tobago Manufacturer’s Association. He currently serves as Executive Chairman and a Director of the LRI Group of Companies.
