On December 3, 2024, Prof Neville Ying received a prestigious award from the Jamaica Stock Exchange for being a Founding Chairman (from 2003) for the Committee for International Best Practices Awards to over 100 companies listed on the main and Junior markets.
These awards have had two areas of impact:
Chairman of the Best Practices Awards Professor Neville Ying, who was celebrating 20 years in that role said: “It has been a remarkable journey watching how time and innovation have transformed a kernel of an idea into something as beautiful and impactful such as these Best Practices Awards.
Additionally, in June 2024, Prof Ying received a special award from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade for planning the programme for all the Diaspora Biennial Conferences from 2004 to 2022.
Prof Ying shared that Sir Roy Augier celebrated his 100th Birthday on Dec 17, 2024 - significant as he, Sir Roy and Irene Walter received the CXC pioneer award in 2023 last year at CXC's 50th Anniversary celebrations led by Sir Hilary Beckles current CXC Chairman for their pioneering role in establishing CXC. We are the only surviving members of that pioneering group. IRENE WALTER, a member of our UWI CLASS of 1967 is still very active providing services in the education sector.
