The Cave Hill stalwart whose career at The University of the West Indies spanned over 25 years, was fondly remembered for his dedication to the institution, masterful planning, avid mentorship, gentle manner, infectious laughter, and as a campus “icon” and “a true giant in the Cave Hill pantheon.”

Alwin Bully was a Dominican cultural administrator, playwright, actor and artist, who designed the national flag of Dominica. Bully was bestowed with the Sisserou Award of Honour, the nation's second highest honour, in 1985.

Winston St. Elmo Whyte, affectionately called ‘St. E’ or just simply ‘Elmo’. An outstanding figure in the field of Actuarial Science, he was renowned for his expertise in Pension Funds. A UWI graduate who contributed to expanding the actuarial profession. One such achievement was increasing the popularity of the actuarial Science programme so graduates grew in number from 25 at the start to 80 the current annual figure on the Mona Campus.
